Olivia Thirlby was born on October 6, 1986 in New York City, New York, U.S., is an American actress best known for her role as Leah, the best friend of Ellen Page’s character in the 2007 film Juno.

In June 2008, Thirlby was described by Vanity Fair magazine as a member of “Hollywood’s New Wave”.

Thirlby was born to an advertising executive mother and a contractor father. She was raised in Manhattan’s East Village, attending school at Friends Seminary in the city’s Gramercy neighborhood, where she graduated in a class of 57 students. She also attended French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in upstate New York. She took classes at the American Globe Theatre, and briefly at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she completed a stage combat course with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC).

While still in high school, Thirlby was offered a role in The Secret. In 2006, she made her film debut in United 93 and her television debut in Kidnapped.

In 2007 she starred as Leah, the best friend of the title character in the critically acclaimed Juno. Around this time, she and her Juno costar Ellen Page were slated to star as the respective title characters of Jack & Diane. The film is a tale of two young women who fall in love, the heat of the romance unlocking lycanthropy in Thirlby’s character, Jack. Both dropped out of the film before production, and the cast was replaced numerous times over. As of 2010, Jack & Diane has entered production with an entirely new cast and no involvement from Thirlby or Page.

In the Sundance Audience Award-winning film The Wackness, a mid-1990s period piece, she plays Stephanie, a marijuana-smoking “popular girl” from New York City. Thirlby stars opposite Josh Peck, who plays a drug dealer. Ben Kingsley stars as her stepfather. The film was released in the U.S. on July 3, 2008.

Thirlby was cast in the Judd Apatow-produced, David Gordon Green-directed stoner comedy, Pineapple Express, as Seth Rogen’s girlfriend, but was replaced by actress Amber Heard after rehearsing for the film. She will however reunite with Gordon Green on the animated TV pilot Good Vibes.

She made her stage debut in Farragut North, a play by Beau Willimon at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City. The Off Broadway production ran from October 22, 2008 – November 29, 2008 with official opening on November 12 and transferred to the Geffen Playhouse in June 2009.

Thirlby appears in the 2009 HBO series Bored To Death. She voices promotional video excerpts from the novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which since October 2008 have regularly been posted to YouTube.

Thirlby appears in the forthcoming film Margaret. She is attached to star in Christmas In New York for Arlen Faber director John Hindman as well as For Ellen for Bradley Rust Gray, She starred also in The No Game, The Manners of Madness and Parts Per Billion. Thirlby will star in the Russian science-fiction film The Darkest Hour, which is directed by Chris Gorak and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. Thirlby was also cast in the lead role of Max on the upcoming drama comedy The Other Side after Lindsay Lohan reportedly dropped the project.

Alongside Karl Urban in the title role, Thirlby has been cast as Judge Cassandra Anderson in the new film adaptation of Judge Dredd currently in production.

Josie Bissett was born as Jolyn Christine Heutmaker on October 5, 1970 in Seattle, Washington, U.S., is an American actress best known for her role as Jane Mancini on the television series Melrose Place.

Bissett, began her career in front of the camera at the age of 12 as a model in print advertisements and television commercials. At 16, she left home and moved to Japan to further her career, and at 17 headed to Hollywood to make her mark.

In early 1990, Bissett landed a recurring role on the sitcom The Hogan Family, where she spent two seasons. Following this in 1992, she was cast as fashion designer Jane Andrews-Mancini on the primetime soap opera Melrose Place. Bissett remained with the series for four and a half seasons until halfway through the 1996-97 season when she suffered a real-life miscarriage. She then took some time off from the series, but returned to the show in 1998 for its final season.

She has made appearances in such projects as the ABC movies The Fire Above and Dare to Love, the FOX telefilm Deadly Vows and the USA cable film Baby Monitor: Sound of Fear. She most recently starred in the ABC Family Channel original telefilm I Do, They Don’t, a romantic comedy about blending two families into one. She has also made numerous guest-starring appearances, such as a 2003 appearance on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2008, she began a recurring role on the ABC Family TV series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She starred in the Lifetime Television original film The Other Woman, based on the novel by Joy Fielding and directed by Jason Priestley. It debuted on June 28, 2008.

She made her big-screen film debut in 1991 in Oliver Stone’s The Doors, as the girlfriend of Doors’ guitarist Robby Krieger. Her subsequent films include the coming-of-age comedy Book of Love and the psychological thriller Mikey.

Bissett has hosted television shows on the topic of parenting, including Parenting & Beyond, which offered parents creative solutions to everyday problems. She also hosted the PBS educational special, Teach More, Love More, which follows four families, each with a child in a stage of early childhood development.

She has appeared on several magazine covers, including TV Guide, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Shape’s Fit Pregnancy and New Woman.

Bissett has been the face of several national commercial campaigns, including Neutrogena’s skin care line, Dr. Scholl’s Pedicure Essentials, and Murad Skin Care.

Bissett has co-edited two books, Little Bits Of Wisdom and Making Memories, which compile parenting stories and advice from parents around the world. She also authored a children’s book, Tickle Monster, released in April 2008.

In 2009-10, Bissett made guest appearances in two episodes of The CW’s updated version of Melrose Place, reprising her role as Jane Andrews-Mancini.

Bissett and actor Rob Estes (who also starred on Melrose Place) were married in 1992, and divorced in 2006. Bissett suffered a miscarriage in 1996, but the couple later had two children together – Mason Tru (born 21 July 1999) and Maya Rose (born 14 April 2002). Bissett currently resides in Seattle with her mother Linda.
